Today is mine...
Time has been running something wicked fast since Friday and can't seem to slow down. It's almost noon on Tuesday already. A lot of the fuss was centered around Ania's and my belated joint birthday party which took place Sunday night. The "party" started at 6 and took place outside around a camp fire we almost didn't get going due to wet, green wood and spitting rain. Thank God, the evening cleared up into a beautiful night with a roaring fire and a gathering of some of my favorite people. I learned this supposedly very Polish way to eat potatoes and that is to just throw them in the fire as they are (no aluminum foil), bury them in the glowing ashes, pull them out 20 minutes later and eat them as they are with lots of salt. Ania said I should be able to feel the gritty dirt in my teeth. Well I did, and it was great!
This weekend I will head up north with Ania and Mike the American to Ania's hometown in Ebląg. Along the way we will visit the famous castle in Malbork, as well as check out the seaside towns of Gdansk and Gdynia.
It's warm and sunny today. I have already enjoyed a long bike ride this morning through the forest, waking up the buttercups, chasing water in the creeks as it flows down stream. There is much yet to seize in the two months I have left...
