Life in the US

After waiting for over an hour, I have finally been able to get onto a computer at the library here in Dubois, Pennsylvania to check my email for the first time since I've gone to camp. Thank you to everyone who sent me quality words during that time. It was so exciting to see some of your names in my inbox: Dawn Grant-Skiba, Anna Boguszynska, Monika Mizura, Grzegorz M, Krzysiu, Rochelle, Bryce.... names that are often in the front of my mind.

Life in the states is life as usual. The first few days I could really tell my speaking patterns had changed (and even now I still use Polish exclamations) but other than that, the adjustment was a lot easier than I ever expected. Everything is normal, and that is the only way I know to explain it.

My layover in Frankfurt was totally painless. I didn't do any sightseeing, but I did have a very comfortable night in a local hotel. I arrived in The States Monday afternoon and reported to work at camp Wednesday morning. A lot of information concerning camp had not been relayed to me and so camp had actually started Sunday the 20th while I was still in Poland, so even with leaving early, I was still late for camp. OH the drama! But everything worked out fine.

We have an awesome staff at camp this year. Everyone is really focused on Jesus and ready to serve each other in anyway possible with the added bonus of being lots of fun. We are going on our third week with campers and so far, I can't complain too much. I did loose my glasses during a code last week though which means I am pretty blind on most days, and I am pretty hoarse from all the singing, yelling, and sleep deprivation. On the flip side, I am working on a really awesome tan.

I am also enjoying stuffing my face again now that Jenny's wedding is over. Jenny was just a totally goregous bride and her ceremony was lovely too. After the wedding, Bryce and I spent some time in that weather capital of the world, Punxatawny, and took pictures with all the groundhogs until his digital camara died.

So about two and a half more weeks of camp and then I will be home for a while. I am going to then visit the Polish Consulate and try to work about all the stuff for my return to my great-grandmother land. :) I think I am going to have to sell my car in order to make it happen, so hopefully God has someone waiting to love my Sabrina Henry... sniff sniff.
