Golden Carrot Caught and Eatten!

In this blog, instead of focusing on the negative aspects that still prevail around me, I will instead tell you of a most wonderful thing that happened to me today!

I had Korepetycja Opera with Pani Cebulska this morning working on the role of Micaela from Carmen. I think I am finally starting to see the light as far as phrasing and keeping a tight energy center. Cebulska is a cool chic, but like all the other professors she is economical with her Praise.

2:40 rolled around, 5 minutes before my voice lesson. I was waiting outside of the windowless door to the classroom when out pops THE VERY frog eyes! But he was leaving and of course I was heart broken at the thought that we was in Yay-yoongs lessons and wouldn't be in mine. Anyway, I didn't dwell on it for long since there was work to be done starting with some nasty staccato exercises and a Handel Aria. In between this, Mommy-Moroz told me that she had talked to Pani Cebulska, who told her I was singing the role of Micaela beautifully. Say what? After the shock of that wore off we did some more singing. I have the most gorgeous Aria of all time from a Dvorak Opera called Rusalka. It's the same story line as the little mermaid, only without the happy ending. I am also singing an art song by Amy Beach which I really like not only because it is Amy Beach HELLO, but also because it is in English and I understand every word. Last two pages of the song, frog eyes comes in and sits himself down for a listen. Of course I am terribly flustered by this, but managed to keep control of myself somewhat. Now here is the golden carrot people, so listen up. After I finished he said, "I had forgotten how sweetly you sing." and I wanted to say "Marry me! Let me have your children!" Okay, maybe not that dramatic BUT for the first time all month I have one of those stupid smiles that I can seem to wipe off my face. It doesn't take much. Thank you frog eyes.
