Happy Thanksgiving

The very Nicole Ampon Fisher has given me a great idea from her very own blog, and that is, even though we don't have "Thanksgiving" in Poland, on this very American holiday, on this very American blog, to name some of the things I am thankful for.

Everyday I wake up in a warm bed with a roof over my head I am thankful. Days of sunshine are a treat indeed and also evoke thanks and praise to a very "cool" and creative God. Running and hot water, a heated room, and electricity are all things I have learned not to take for granted because you never know when you might not have them.

Then there are times when I am rushing through Warsaw to get to class, nearly frozen to death, wet from rain or snow, tired, hungry, sore, and on the verge of complaining when I am overcome with the realization of where I am. I do not forget how much work and faith it took to get to this place- to return to Poland and study at the very school that told me 9 months ago that to continue my studies there would be impossible. Praise God. Then again, I think of how lucky I am to have found such a luxurious and safe place of exile- a second chance that I in no way deserve.

I am thankful for friends in Poland like my "super seven" and I am thankful for friends at home- both those that keep in touch and those that don't.

I'm thankful for Bryce and how he proves time and time again what faithfulness and friendship can really mean.

I am thankful for 2 beautiful sisters, Thank You Jesus for them and for keeping them safe thus far. For a dynamic and crazy drama-thriving family coloring the human race.

I'm thankful for 11 years of Adventist Education and the teachers that touched my life, became my heros and taught me how to look at the world in a different and more beautiful way.

I am thankful for summer camp at LLC and the 6 short weeks I get to spend there, recharging my spiritual batteries and spending time with some of the most awesome people on the planet (yes Nikki, that includes you).

I'm thankful for little things, like email and internet. I'm thankful for big things, like liberty and the right to vote.

And then I am thankful for the plan of salvation. That I will live forever, that Jesus loves me and see's me through Christ as I shall one day be completed (thank you Tracee Kilmer for that beautiful thought once upon a time) and that He patiently works with me day by day.
