Sunshine? Is that you?
Yeah, there are a few rays of sun this morning, but I'm not getting my hopes up. November 14, day 14 without sunlight. It's really wearing me down. Last week ended up being a tough and lonely week. I'm going through all sorts of drama at work and as as of last night, I have prostituted all my free time to a second job, maybe soon to be only job if I can't work something out with the seminary in Podkowa. It's like I always say, people look at me and they see nice, white, adventist girl, easy to push around and take advantage of. Do I need to tatoo "Philly" across my forehead? Don't mess with this white tiger, man!
While work is offering a few challenges, school is still going very well. It was a good week for listening to music, something I've decided I need to do more of. The Academy has a pretty nice listening center- well, by nice when you listen to music you have a whole room to yourself where the music is played over stereo. The only downside is you don't have control of the CD, record, or whatever. Only the workers handle it and control the tracks. That kinda stinks. But it's cool that you get your own room. There is a desk and a few chairs, so when I have free gaps of time and the lab is open, I lock myself in there and listen to music while doing homework. I suppose I could do anything in there I wanted because the room is fairly sound proof, closeds in by two layers of doors, and there are NO WINDOWS! Ha!
I also got piano recital tickets for two nights in a row at the Philharmonic. Kris and I went last night and heard a fantastic pianist named Mihaela Ursuleasa who pleased the crowd so much that she played two encores! Tonight I am going with Irina. We are going to head into Warsaw a little early for some espresso, and then the concert. Kris said I am a traitor, but hey, it's a "girl's night out! Honey there ain't no doubt!"
