Ode to Slobert

Dedicated to the man who coined the term "welfare cheese" and "brown tiger", the following text is dedicated to the better side of my mother.

This is my uncle John Robert Oswald, aka Slobert.


He happens to be the hardest man on the planet to please in terms of gastronomic science. I made this beautiful Babka and he said it was deceiving and dry.


Uncle Bob is a real-live cowboy! This morning he is over making us chuck wagon.


We're heading out in about an hour, trying to finish up the pie making in the mean time.
