Not Much Justice in the World

Well, there you have it. Our eagles lost. Am I suprised? Should I be? No, I am not suprised, although I did have hope. It's like all these years of Philadelphia losing have simply conditioned me to easily deal with disappointment- kind of like life in Poland. For example, I was completely unphased standing in front of the shower this morning watching it pour out dirty brown water. It has happened so so many times that I don't even get upset anymore- just like chapionship games and Philadelphia.

Speaking of losing things of importance, maybe the faithful readers have noticed a lack of comments from Mr. Anonymous. There are two reasons for this, first being that his computer is dead. But the second reason is Mr. Anonymous, aka Mike the American, aka Schmike is preparing to officially 'rob the cradle' and I don't mean with me (cresting 23, I am not baby ;) ). That's right. Mike will sport a newer and more versitile model than me, we suspect very, very soon. The real punch in the stomach is that this chic has something I maybe never will: dual Polish-American citizenship. Miss Anonymous (we will call her) is tolerating me for now, but I fear like so many others I have loved in this world, I will lose Mike to his significant other. No more pancake lunches, no more phone calls (if I had a mobile), no more blog comments and before you know it, I won't even be allowed to hug Mike or practice my Polish kissing culture on him.

It's heartbreaking enough what possessive paranoid women do to mixed gender relationships, but sadly enough a girl even loses her girlfriends to commitment and love. Hence the reason 98% of my friends are single people, and when they finally tie their knots??? What shall be left of me then? The day when I lose Ania (close at hand), Agata (even closer at hand), Irina, Monika, Krzysiu (oh I shall cry and be jealous this day!), Greg (to the whiles of some English woman more than likely!) Peter, Nikki... Ug! And the list of those I have already lost- a long, long list. No more keeping in touch, no more tea, no more walks in the woods. Oh Freedom! Your cost is great! Oh Philadelphia! Shall you doom us all? Oh love, what you do to my friends! Ach!
