Not your ordinary Kurcze!
In this time of mournful death worship, I would like to put some Dolly humor on the table. Actually, I am borrowing this joke from Leon who got it in an email.
Why did the Pope cross the road??
Because he crosses everything!
BAhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.
We went on a walk today in p.e. instead of our normal aerobic workout because my darling teacher thought playing such music at such a time is inappropriate. Everything on the radio is PJP this and PJP that. Only funeral songs. Candles and flowers in front of every church. Everyone is depressed and on their way to Rome. Really. I have a few students and colleagues who are going to Rome for the funeral. And my lovely Pianist totally bit my head off yesterday when I "Dzien Dobry'ed her. She said, "Don't you realized what has happened? How can you be so happy at such a time."
So as Mike said, we are worshiping the dead, or death in general. I can acknowledge that PJP has done some great things, but I cannot exonerate someone whose has purposely taken glory that only belongs to God.

Do you have any idea how releaved I am?!?! I'm really really glad you're doing quite well! As for me now that in know that you seem to be doing well I can go through my day without any worries about you!
God is the only person we should be worshiping. PJP had done great things but he is not out father as some people refer to him as.
I LOVE YOU!!! XOXOXOXO
A friend and I and some other people were talking about the whole thing the other day and we find the whole situation to be very contradictory.
Theoretically the pope is "infallible" (I read this in EGW the other morning) yet despite this infallibility he is dead. Not to mention the fact that he has been bestowed all these special abilities from God yet it does not seem that God saw fit to make him immortal or untouchable by sickness.
Being a potential nurse in the making I heard about some of the things he was suffering from and they were no drop in the bucket. The man was really suffering. I feel bad for that.
Another fine point made by my friend was that he could not believe that this man lived his entire life celibate. I could care less whether the pope is doing the hanky panky or not. To me he is just another person that just so happens to have a mighty big influence over the world because of the wrecked state we are in because of sin.
I work in a Catholic hospital now and I asked my charge nurse the other day how people are handling the pope's death and he simply replied that there are more SDA's working at Memorial then Catholics which I find to be quite humorous and really very fabulous at the same time.

You can't even imagine how strange it is, that you are reading this at the moment. I was looking for some pics of Warsaw, when google teleported me here. Then I read this entry about PJP and man... I wisz there were more open minded people, like you, in this godforsaken country. I just can't stand this madness. I hate the polish mentality and it shows at every corner and every street lately. The only positive thing about it, is that the football fans have united for the first time. I'm shocked.
Anyway, I love the joke. The only reasonable thing a man can do when confronted with death, is to laugh. So, thanks for that.
I probably won't be dropping by anymore, so take care.
Hey Konrad--thanks for dropping by!!! That's so cool to hear from a native!!! With a cool attitude. And you're right; it's an amazing thing when even the "hooligans" get together and make peace.
